WhereDaily News: Stanley Tomchin Donates to Teach for America Las Vegas
SANTA BARBARA, CA--(Marketwired - Apr 2, 2014) - Most people think of Las Vegas as a city of casinos, a paradise for gamblers and a set for many movies. But only a couple of blocks away from the Strip, Las Vegas is a tight-knit community that is at times struggling with the ups and downs of the economy, because the majority of incomes in the city are tied to the casinos, which are more susceptible to economic volatilities than most other businesses. In an effort to support children from low-income families, a fund set up by the avid philanthropist and Las Vegas enthusiast, Stanley Tomchin, made a considerable donation of $125,000 to Communities In Schools of Nevada and Teach for America Las Vegas.
