BRENTWOOD, CA--(Marketwired - Nov 6, 2014) - As part of William Lyon Homes' ongoing commitment to the communities in which they build, the company proudly sponsored "Job Shadow Day" in collaboration with the Educational Outreach Committee of Professional Women in Building (PWB) of BIA Bay Area and Junior Achievement. On October 29th, the event generated the largest turnout ever with 60 junior and senior students from Brentwood's Liberty High School and Antioch High School gathering at the Cielo neighborhood within the Palmilla community of Brentwood for an extraordinary learning experience. Students interested in the homebuilding field had the opportunity to meet top experts who educated them on the exciting homebuilding process -- from architecture, mechanical plans and landscaping to sales, marketing and design. Students also safely toured the community to observe developments in progress and enjoyed hands-on experience building a deluxe doghouse. By educating and mentoring students, William Lyon Homes' Northern California management and field construction teams encouraged them to consider a future career in the homebuilding industry, further cementing the company's dedication to inspiring our next generation of leaders.
