The latest trend in hospitality can give hotels a lift if they want to tower above the competition. Today’s travelers no longer have their head in the clouds when they dream about renting a room in the trees. Hotels.com cites a trend that saw an increase of 30% in demand for treehouse hotels last year.

In fact, treetop luxury may come out on top (33%), proving more popular than sleeping in a spaceship (28%), checking into a hotel made of gold (24%) or bedding down in an ice hotel (23%), the survey notes. Here is a list of top treehouse stays for those looking for a new way to see the world from their hotel room.
