2015 Tour de Montana

The Cycling House is hosting at Tour de Montana cycling trip July 13 – 19, 2015 and for the first time, riders can enjoy a new hotel option. Tour de Montana is an epic 320 mile, point-to-point, alpine ride through rural western Montana. This all-inclusive cycling tour includes fully guided and supported rides, all meals, luggage transportation and airport shuttles. It’s a seven day/six night cycling trip covers five mountain passes as riders track an average of 68 miles per day and 3,200 feet of climbing.

Stage 1 is almost entirely flat for 86 miles through the Bitterroot Valley. In Stage 2 the climbing begins with a six-mile climb to the top of the 7,000 foot Lost Trail Pass. The climb is paid off with a beautiful descent into the Big Hole Valley, surrounded by four mountain ranges.  Stage 2 offers long and a short ride options at 120 miles and 78 miles, respectively. Stage 3 cuts through the heart of western Montana ranch lands and ends at Georgetown Lake. Stage 4 is a descent out of the mountains and back into the plains and farmland ending in Ovando, Montana. This day has an amazing optional dirt section that is Montana’s version of a smooth(ish) Paris Roubaix section. Paved or dirt, miles on this day are just over 75. Stage 5 is an optional out and back from Ovando and then the mode of transportation changes to the floating variety for a float down the Blackfoot River, famously depicted in the classic A River Runs Through It, and back to Missoula.

Rates: The trip is $1495 per person (plus $500 for the hotel option) with a 30-rider limit.
